Battle of the Bands

Our friends Denise and Joe hosted a battle of the bands.

Pip in my rocker girl earrings.

See below for why Austin is shirtless (plus it is really hot when you are playing).

We dressed up like our characters that we made in our Wii bands. There isn't a photo of me straight on so you'll have to gather info from the above pictures. Here is my character.

Here is Austin's character...

And Austin's costume...he had work out gloves too, but they are not on.

Pool Party

Brent hosted a pool party with the gang. His neighborhood has a pool that is rarely used, we had12 in our group and were more than double the rest of the guest there at any one time. It is a really nice pool with a walk in section like a beach.

Brent, Bill, Austin's feet and partial head, Piper, Chris/Taylor, Allison, Libby. Craig was sleeping on the chairs, Dylon snorkeling in the "hot" tub (it isn't heated) but I'm not sure where Alyssa is swimming.

Slumber Party

We had our friend's girls over for Saturday night. We played some Sorry, Rock Band (awesome!) and everyone made their own Lasagna for dinner. Mr. Brent and Bronx joined in the dinner/Rock Band portion of the evening as well.

Their favorite part of being at our house....the gumball machine.

We are testing some paint colors for the living/dining and office. So we made large samples of the top choices to see if we still think they would be the right choice.

The House

I've had a few requests to show some pictures of our house now that we are moved in. While we are moved in a little more (meaning as of recently there is actually furniture in all of our rooms) we still have not officially decorated the place yet. We thought it would be best to save that for our 3rd year of living here.
As I try to add more than about 4 pictures to a post the formatting gets a little disorganized. So I will do this in a few posts.

To start here are some pictures of our favorite accessories.

A great outdoor accessory.

A temporary accessory while Mr. Brent is visiting Idaho.

An easily annoyed accessory.

The Living Room

We finally are using the book shelves and they are very nice to have actually. We arranged the furniture to make the room feel more like a room as well. There is wood next to the fire place, it is a wood burning fire place and we do use it in the winter time. I had wanted a gas fire place, but now I realize that would be a waste here and the wood is MUCH better. Austin really enjoys building and having the fires going.

Out latest addition is to join the world of High definition television. I can't wait for football season! G-bear protects the tv so don't get any ideas.

The Bonus Room and Office

The Bonus room is hard to get a picture of so here is an overview and then some better detail shots.

All of the old gaming systems hooked up and ready to be played at any time. Austin's very happy about this!
This room has mostly been used as a play area for our friend's kids when they are over for an evening. Tay and Pip have filled a corner of the room with toys to help keep the "youngin's" entertained. Also in this corner is Austin's LARGE lego collection ready to be played with at anytime. Again, something he is very excited about. I am hoping for a foose ball table someday, but he doesn't like those?!? Also the second guest bed is in this room.

The Office/Bo and Daisy's room. Daisy has graduated to a "big girl" bed in our room at night. However the kennel is used during the storms to help calm down Bo.

Painting the office is one of our next house projects. The brown/cream doesn't match with the grey/orange colors in here or with the furniture. If anyone has a good darkish grey paint color that doesn't look blue or purple please share.

Fort Pulaski Visit

One of the last trips we did with Austin's family before they went to North Carolina was to Fort Pulaski. Here are a few pictures of that since I have been deliquent in posting.
