Talladega (not Nights)

I got to enjoy some of the South's finest entertainment this past weekend at Talladega Super speedway. The 99 and 21 are my favorite drivers and one of my top guys Kyle Busch won the race. Carl Edwards (the 99 Home Depot car) wrecked hard both races, but it was still fun.
Austin stayed home and worked on the Fence Project Phase II. No pictures of that because I had the camera, I'll get some next weekend when the Fence Project is finished.

Daisy vs. The Stairs

As part of moving things around this past weekend we realized that Daisy has a pretty serious fear of the stairs. When we go upstairs she sits at the bottom trying to come up, but doesn't quit realize how to climb them. I know I have written about her being a very smart dog, and I hope that this doesn't change your opinion of her in that regard. I carried her up the stairs once to try and teach her the skill but then once at the top she hid under the guest bed and cried. Be the end of the day today she has climbed to the top and back down on her own, but it is a struggle.

Bo and me waiting for her at the top.

She is trying so hard, she jumps up and little and then goes back to the floor.

She made it up a few stairs this time.

Weekend Events

This weekend was full of events as usual for us lately. It all started with our bedroom furniture being delivered on Friday afternoon. We have been looking for months so I finally got brave and ordered off the Internet. We spent Friday afternoon and most of Saturday moving the guest bedroom furniture into there and setting up our bedroom. Here are some pictures...

Ausitn's video game chair and video game center.

The puppies have an odd way of helping, if you open the picture you can see Bo is actually licking Austin's ear while he is trying to screw in the bed slats.

Everywhere Austin goes...the puppies go.

If you look back at the first picture of the room you'll notice something AMAZING....we have blinds on out windows. Another delivery that came this week was our blinds and Austin installed them this afternoon while I mowed the lawn and put the hibiscus trees in attractive pots.

Friday night we went out to dinner in Savannah with our friend Lee and Bobby Sue. We went to the only brewery in Savannah, yeah Austin is struggling with the beer selection coming from the NW.

More from the Visit to Portland...

I got to spend lots of time with the boys over the weekend, unfortunately most of the time was in the middle of the night. They actually are very good babies, it just takes a long time to get through the feeding, changing, etc cycle that has to take place every three hours. Their parents have a long haul in front of them, and are doing AMAZING at taking care of them!

Here's both babies with their Auntie Nelle (Jered on left, Gabe on right).

Here is Gabe and me hanging out on the couch, I'm teaching him OoooSsssUuuu moves.

In this picture you can see his cute face...

Holm and Jered hanging out with Cru dog. Cru and Grandma picked me up and took me to the airport, he is such a good dog.

Jered takin' a nap in my airs, such a sweetie!

Here is another instance of Jered takin' a nap in my arms, still a sweetie!

I already miss them, they are soo sweet!

Visiting the Babies

I flew in to Portland Friday morning and get to spend the weekend with Janna and Holm, Cru, Gabe and Jered. It is also my dad's birthday so my parents came up and Jered and Allison came over from the coast and we all went out to dinner for papa's birthday. I also got to go to the boy's 2-week check up. So far the weekend has been a lot of fun, hopefully the flight home tomorrow will be smooth.

Guitar that Plays Itself

We spent the weekend doing household chores. Finally measured for and ordered blinds, we figured after 4 month our neighbors deserve a break from us and we should get some blinds on the windows. We (ok Austin) put up the shower door in the master bath so we don't have to walk across the entire house to the guest bathroom. Etc. Etc.

So...we are sitting in our living room relaxing finally after a busy weekend and the guitar in the corner is randomly playing notes. They are soft and happen rarely, but definitely the guitar is playing itself. Could this be a sign of an earthquake coming? We thought we left those behind for tornadoes and hurricanes! After a few minutes the guitar playing bug flew out of the guitar. I did my best attempt at getting a picture. He was hanging out in the guitar and hitting a string as he tried to escape.

Go Dawgs

Last weekend I went with a friend and her daughter to Atlanta to see the SEC championships for Gymnastics. Georgia has a very good team and has won national championships in recent history. It was a lot of fun, but no one would join me when I started cheering OOOO....SSSSS...UUUU.....Oregon State Fight Fight Fight. Weird?

Georgia won the SEC Championship and will go on to Nationals also held in Georgia at the end of April. Go Dawgs.

And for good measure here are some picture of our adorable nephews ready to go home from the hospital. They went home this afternoon, yeah!
