Pool Time

We have been doing all our “chores” on Saturday or weekday nights so we can spend Sunday doing family activities.  We start the day with church and then a relaxing activity.  Today we enjoyed the summer weather and set up Zachary’s baby pool in the yard for a few hours.

And as you can tell he enjoyed himself.

We finally filled the lounge area of the rock patios.

And after looking at these photos I realize he really likes his new toy shovel.

Here is a picture of Z during chore time on Saturday.  He has an eating chair outside at our high table because we eat most meals out there right now.  So while Austin is washing the dogs, etc in the back yard Zach likes to sit at his chair and play and watch them.

Mutilating MS, Breast Cancer and Marching

Two weekends ago, Zachary, Keri, me and bunch of others walked in the MS Walk Savannah to raise money and awareness.  A friend and coworker’s wife was diagnosed with MS about 6 months ago.  She is about 28 with 2 babies (1 Zach’s age and the other almost 4) so we walked on her team.

She made us each shirts to wear that have the MS Mutilators (the team name she chose) on the back and a unique name across the front.  Zachary was Zealous Zachary and I was Ruthless Rabe.

Ready to walk (well ride).

It was a nice overcast cool morning and the MS Mutilators raised over $5,000, more than any other team involved.

Then on Monday Z fell at daycare and busted up his lip so we had to spend the night (almost literally) in the ER to make sure it didn’t need stiches and would heal correctly.

He did ok for the early portion of the night, but as bedtime came and went he got very grumpy.  They ended up just letting it heal naturally but we had to wait for 3 different doctors to look at it and make the decision.

Last weekend was the Savannah Race for the Cure.  GP’s Quilted Northern Brand is a Brand sponsor of Susan G Komen and the Race for the Cure so we all ran on the Mill’s Team sponsored by GP.

The fam at Clairy’s (From Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil) having breakfast with a group of friends after the race.  I would not recommend going here, our normal spot was too busy with all the racers so we went further away and it was not good.  But Z looks sweet in his race headband.

And I can’t remember if I posted these ones already or not.  We did the Shamrock run about a month ago for March of Dimes in Downtown Savannah.  It rained but was warm so even Zach didn’t mind.

As you can see it is the 5k season here in Savannah but I think they are all over until the Fall.  We missed the Beach Run 5k, which would be fun but we had something else that weekend.

Happy Easter

We are having a rough Easter around our house.  Zachary had his immunizations last Wednesday and has had a high fever and not been eating since Thursday.  He formally has strep as well but it has been pretty bad this time.  We are struggling to keep his fever under 104 and the poor kid is just miserable.

IMG_2252

He got a balloon in his Easter basket which has cheered him up some.

So grumpy.  We had the hoodie on to keep the sun off his head.

He also really liked the bat and ball.  Although he is a little wild with the bat.

Brent came over for dinner and then we played in the back yard and attempted  walk but it was getting too hot for Z so we came back inside.

If this doesn’t break your heart then you don’t have one.  Poor kid.

He’s a bit of a daddy’s boy lately anyway, but not feeling well he won’t let Austin out of his sight without screaming.
