Pool Time

IMG_0938

We spent the afternoon in the back yard letting Zach float in his little pool to keep cool, reading and resting.

We wanted to do something the puppies could be involved in as well.  Bo had some good hose spraying time no pictured.

Still looking for chaise loungers for this area but the camping cot worked for today.

Cutest baby on the block (although our new next door neighbors brought home their 2 day old boy today and we will meet him tomorrow).

Lovin’ the water, he was in their for a couple hours and loves it.  We didn’t let him go under because it wasn’t clean water since Bo thinks that all water is for him.

Zach also chilled in the Bumbo for a while.  This thing is awesome (thanks Meg…and um Kirb too I am sure).  Zach doesn’t like laying down anymore but can’t sit on his own yet.  He thoroughly enjoys sitting in his Bumbo and watching the world.  Soon we will start feeding him in there when he starts eating with a spoon.  We tried to put it in the pool and let him sit in it in there.  Instead we learned that the buoyancy of the Bumbo is greater than the weight of Zach times gravity so it was a floating disaster.

Daddy and baby pool time.

And the puppies needed to make an appearance to say hello since it has been a while.

As well as Miss Rajah.  She is wishing Piper a happy birthday, she just turned 7 this week (so grown up so fast!).

And Baby Z with his fighter pilot training still in progress.  He will get these treatments for a few weeks at least but it really has been amazing for him.  We try to distract as best as possible to avoid the screaming.  The calm never lasts throughout the entire treatment (~10 min), poor kid.

Vacation on the Island

To start we should tell you that Zach has had a very bad cough which led to him not being able to breath correctly and being low on O2.  As a result we have to give him breathing treatments which he HATES, but really makes him almost back to normal and are a miracle for him.

He is healing and doing much better now that he is getting the oxygen and sleep his body needs.

This past weekend before he got sick we took Sunday as a vacation day.

We spent the morning on the back porch (ok, we do this every Sunday but still it is relaxing like we are on vacation).

We spent some time upstairs so Zach could play on the floor.

He heard some good stories from his lion.

Then the real “vacation” started and we headed out to Hilton Head.

We had brunch on the water at Old Fort Pup

Wind blow and trying to get a picture of Zach and me, didn’t work out too well.

Then we headed out to Sea Pines (Harbor Town) and walked around the area.

Unfortunately the camera stopped working (our old little one) so we don’t have good pictures of the main portion of the day.  We stopped a Salty Dog for a frozen daiquiri and our friends pulled up on their boat to join us.  We spent the afternoon with them at the docks.

Then in the evening we went to their house and had a low country boil with the crab they had caught that morning.  It was good way to come out of hibernation.  Although we all would have preferred being on the boat or at the beach for the day it is Jelly fish season and we don’t want to risk Zach getting hit stung so we are still in hibernation from the water portion of our lives.

You may have noticed Zach is now rollin’ in his big stroller.

Thanks to Mr. Brent for the Christmas present last year, he is loving his light ride and it is much easier to push around.

And we leave you with the sleeping baby who is all tucked in for the night.

Lost of Purchases – Good Bye TV

Well we haven’t posted in a while because this time of year we hibernate.  We have been defeating the world of Super Mario Brothers Wii, watching the rain come down, shopping and resting.  We purchased Zach a bounce chair a little while ago and he is loving it.

We also purchased a few wall decorations, its sad that we have lived here almost 4 years and still have empty walls in many places.  Real decorating is never a priority for us probably because this is our 4th home in 9 years of marriage.

One change we made a few months ago was to stop our cable television service.  Austin has wanted to get rid of TV for a while as a cost savings and I always hold on for sports.  But we just don’t have the time to watch TV regularly with all the other things we would rather do and there aren’t any Beaver or Broncos games on TV here anyway.  Also it is really hard for me to justify the annual cost just to have access to football games.

In it’s place for when we do want to be mindless and relax we purchased a Logitech Revue off Amazon.com which has Google TV.  It is similar to having a smart phone on your TV.  There are Apps like Netflix which we subscribe to and many others.  You search in their menu and any video on the web shows up and starts in full screen with one click.  Only problem is some of the major networks have blocked devices that use Google TV because what would be the point of TV other than sports if everyone had this device that has no monthly fee.  So when The Office and possibly Survivor start up we will have to use our computer…on to our next purchase.

Last weekend we took advantage of Tax free back to school shopping weekend in South Carolina and went to the Best Buy at Hilton Head to get a new computer.  With the computer we now have Google Video Chat with Gmail if anyone else wants to chat.  It also has “Push to TV.”  This allows us to use our TV as a second computer monitor wirelessly with a push of a button.  It also wirelessly transmits to the stereo system.  So we can easily watch and control TV shows off the web on the TV through the computer.  Pretty sweet.  Now if anyone knows where to get NFL games on the internet let me know!

Zach is still working out the kinks with a twisted foot and possibly hip.   He is suppose to have us work the foot for him and wear laced up high tops to help it stay straight and we have some follow up diagnostic work with the orthopedics in Oct and Jan.  He is at the phase where he crawls all around his crib at night and you never know where he will be or what position.  He is also holding on when you pick him up so it feels like he gives you a big hug almost every time you pick him up, very cute.   Here are a couple videos that are not the best but show him if you are interested.

Here is one where is laughs a little.  When he sees the camera come on he gets mesmerized by it and just stops but he looses up a little.

He is almost 5 months old so look forward to those photos in the near future.
