Hilton Head Day

Erica is starting PA school in North Carolina in a few weeks so her and Cheryl came out to visit on their way to move her into her apartment in Fayetteville.

We spent the day today on Hilton Head running errands and resting at new hang outs.

Watching the dolphins swim. In the next photo if you open it you can see them. Austin really wanted to go out and swim with them, but no suit. Rookie mistake...always have a suit.

Cheryl and I enjoying a "Pay tren" (aka Patron) Perfect Margarita. This is in Shelter Cover on HH.

I'm sure we'll have more to share as the week goes on.

Habitat for Humanity

The small group that Austin leads volunteered for a local Habitat for Humanity home that is going to the son of a couple in our church. We had a pretty poor turn out from our group, Sarah (pictured below) Matt and Brent along with Austin and I.

We had some help from some of our other friends, including Kim.

And Steve and Kerri wanted to join us just because they enjoy lending a helping hand. They framed and installed a shower for their morning.

It was fun for Austin to pick up the old tape and hammer again. I enjoyed myself also, we all had a good time.

4th of July Weekend

Austin and I both had Friday off work to celebrate the 4th of July holiday on Saturday. We were fortunate to go out on the boat with our friends for the day.

Here we are at the quesadilla "restaurant" on Dafuskie Island.

We stopped on one of the sand bars off Hilton Head island to swim for a while. It was pretty busy being the 4th of July holiday.

Swimming at the sand bar.

This is actually on our way out in the morning. We put into the Savannah River just up the road from our house and then ride of the rive to the ocean. This is the bridge to South Carolina .

Wind blown and ready to tie up to the dock ahead. Captain Steve lets us all help on the boat.

On the way to Shelter Cove we stopped and jumped off the roof of the boat for a while.

The boating group for the day, Austin and me, Brent and Kim, Steve and Kerri.

The boys.
We anchored the boat in a spot where we could see fire works from the yacht club, Tybee Island, River street and Greyson Stadium. It was an amazing view and beautiful boat ride in the sun set to get there. We stopped to swim half way.

Austin watched the firework show from in the water. I swam for a while, but climbed in the boat for most the show. We put a glow stick around his neck while in the water so we wouldn't loose him (you'll have to pen if you want to see).

For the actual 4th of July we had Allison and the girls as well as Brent over for a BBQ. Then went to some other friend for a LARGE firework show. We felt like we still needed the family on the blanket little firework show so we attempted a firework night tonight.
Just as we sat onto the blanket it started raining as a thunder storm rolled into the area.

Chris and Austin lighting up the fireworks.

The firework show only lasted about 10 minutes. Piper is deathly afraid of rain and was bawling to go inside where it was safe.
