Southern Spirit

Yesterday I went to the "Going Home Celebration" for a crew member at the mill who was fatally injured on the paper machine. While the overall situation is very sad and professionally a huge challenge, the service was a nice experience.
He lived near Austin and me so the service was at a old white church in Guyton. The church was overfull with people standing up the side isles and in the back. The choir was very soulful as well as the many ministers that lead. His extended family who is from California was blown away by the southern spirit and love they felt. It was just as the movies would depict a southern service in a small town church and it was a nice cultural experience for me.
