It has been over a year since we have been camping. It took us a while to get settled here and get a trip together. We went to Fort McCallister which is only about a 30 min drive from our house.
Brent, Austin, JoAnn and Charlynn around the fire.
Austin enjoying the view of the Ogeechee River. We camped on the Red Bird Creek which flows to the Ogeechee and then ~12 miles to the Ocean. We also had a canoe that we went on but I don't have pictures. We didn't want to bring the camera out on the water. We made the unwise decision to take Bo and Daisy in the canoe with Austin, Christine and me. Very unstable.
Christine, Me and Bo buddy enjoying a ride through the park.
Austin, me and the pups enjoying the view of the River from a look out at the Fort.
More ridin'
Austin and the dogs relaxing at camp after the long ride. This was Daisy's first camping trip, and I believe first bike ride. She was a little whiny about all the wild animals and her being tied up but she did well overall.
Brent and The Bronx napping in the hammock.
We are destined to camp in the rain. Saturday around 5:30 the skies started getting dark, very dark. There had been tornado warnings for the North part of the county all day and it was raining at home, but we had stayed dry and hot all weekend until this point. We packed up quickly and sat around the fire until the storm reached our location. This is a picture of what was dry ground about 15 min after it started raining. It is AMAZING the volume of water that can fall from the sky at one time.
We ended the weekend "camping" at our house Saturday night. After the skies cleared over night, it was beautiful and 80 degrees today. We spent the afternoon napping in the sun and then had the first game in our kick ball season tonight. I'll take a camera to one of the games and put some pictures of that up at a later date.

Ack, I'm soooo jealous!
I can't wait to take Eli camping for the first time.
Looks like so much fun - even with the rain! (And really, what is camping without a little rain - it's not natural!) Can't wait to get there and enjoy some of your sunshine!
