To celebrate America’s Independence we had friends over for a “grill out” and yard games followed by a concert in the evening.
Katie and me, the mill ladies.
New seating area to the right of the porch (future post on that, it was a busy weekend)
It was a little hot so we busted out Zach’s baby pool for Mikey P.
Bocci ball tournament
Red neck outfits
Cooling off in Zach’s pool, it was definitely worth the $8.
Crab butt baby
Austin and his new BBQ and table he received from Zach for Father’s day.
This guy got sprayed with the hose for a long time and was playing in the pool until he got sick. Silly puppy.
Then Steve/Kerri and us went to a Zac Brown Band concert on Fort Stewart.
He is (behind Jimmy Buffett) my favorite artist and the person we would most want to see in concert so we were thrilled. Zac is from Georgia, one of his most popular song is Chicken Fried, although definitely not his best.
It was a free concert he did on base for Army soldiers & their families. Austin was included since he is in the Army Corp there. It was a very different experience to celebrate the 4th of July on an Army base with soldiers and their families.
Overall it was a long day but fantastic.

That does sound like a fun day!! I know I really loved the day we went to the base where Austin works - it was amazing to see the families that are sacrificing to protect us!
also, Kerri - I am jealous of you!! Holding that sweet little guy!
How cool, that you guys got to go to the Zac Brown concert at Fort Stewart! Seems like a perfect 4th of July.
Looks like fun :)
