At his appointment on November 21st (exactly 1 month) he weighed 10 lbs, 2 oz and was 23 inches tall. When the doctor walked in she said, wow is big in your arms. Although according to the growth charts he is 50th percentile on weight on 75th percentile on height. He is out of almost all his new born clothes and fitting well into the 0-3 month clothing.
Block pictures this month didn’t go very well. We spent the morning at the doctors and then Jeremiah took a long afternoon nap. When he woke up we had to bathe him and then do pictures. The early evening pictures just after a bathe is not a great combo.
Late in the evening he was nestled into his nap chair and sitting peacefully. Next month we will plan ahead better on pictures. Of course on his birthday we were doing a lot of cooking and preparing for Thanksgiving which was the next day.
Waiting at the doctors office with daddy.
Zachary showing off his run way walk in the doctors office while we waited. I could barely get an appointment for him without waiting for an extra week or so with the holiday. I really like their doctor but we had to wait for about an hour and half. That is just too much to ask of a newborn and 1.5 year old!
Waiting on the big exam table. Everything checked out well except the head bump which we already were aware of and one of the main reasons Austin wanted to be at the appointment too. She believes it is cosmetic, but it hasn’t shrunk following the normal pattern for this type of injury and is now down to a hard surface rather than soft (skull probably). There is a chance it is not cosmetic and there is something under his skull pushing it out.
You can see the bump in this picture taken the night before his 1 month birthday if you look at the back (his) right side of his head. We have an ultrasound scheduled for Monday afternoon and if they can determine from that it is cosmetic we are done, if they can’t we will go in for a CT Scan and check him out. She is trying to avoid exposing him to radiation so we won’t do the CT unless the specialist recommends it on Monday.
Although she did say that if it is cosmetic like she believes there is probably not much we can do to fix it. So he likely won’t go for the shaved hair style when he is older =).
Here are the babies on the drive home, they have done great sitting next to each other so far. Z can’t actually reach Jeremiah. The only issue we have had is Zachary stealing Jeremiah’s blanket a couple times. Before I put them in the car now if I want the blanket to stay I ask Zachary to help me put it on Jere and then to leave it on him and Z has listened (so far).
For comparison here is a picture of Zachary, then a picture of our nephews Gabe and Jered and then 2 pictures of Jeremiah, all in the same outfit at 1 month old.
One main difference I noticed is we cannot button the top button on Jere and get the hood on his head. His feet also stick out easily which would imply he is taller. I’ll have to look up Z and Gabe and Jered’s specs at there 1 month check up (or Janna can you look them up?).
We have many more items to post about but wanted to get this one up first and get caught up later in the weekend/week.

Zachary was 22 inches and 9 lbs 3.5 oz. (1 inch shorter and 1 pound lighter). I also realized the picture of Z in the outfit is actually at 5 weeks, not 1 month.
He is probably going to be bigger than his big brother. :) They are both such cuties -- LOVE the pics of all the cousins in the same outfit!
