Holiday Parade

We went to one of the many holiday parades before we left for Thanksgiving. This was pretty much your classic small town Holiday parade, marching bands, local group floats, etc. Here are a couple shots to give you a little feel for the area.

First off the GP float. We are not a creative bunch, a pick up truck with a trailer a towels, but it is always a crowd pleaser when people get free TP or towels.

Notice the sweatshirts and pants? It was actually cold this morning (in the low 40's) as they were preparing the float. By the time they started the parade in was almost 70 and sunny so everyone was sweating, it was a good look for them.

Next the classic Toddler Miss Effingham (Effingham is the name of the dry (meaning no liquor stores allowed) county that we live in). I almost had a great shot of her drinking out of her bottle but then her mom leaned forward and blocked her.

This is pretty classic for the South as well. Those guns were LOUD, even though I knew it was coming I still had to jump.

I

The other big difference was the color guard in the high school marching band was wearing a normal cheer leader's outfit but then had loose fitting yoga type black pants underneath to stay appropriately dressed. Austin had the camera and tried to get a picture but he couldn't try to hard at taking pictures of high school cheerleaders without looking odd so we missed the shot.
