Our good friend Chris turned 40 on Thursday the 4th. So last night we had a party at their house in his honor. They decided to go away from the traditional dinner part and do a Minute to Win It themed party which he and his daughter watch all the time and love. Austin and I were at a disadvantage not having television and not really understanding the games at first, but we ended up doing well.
They set up 12 games around the house and we competed all night, it took about 5 hours to get through them all with a quick dinner break for some pre-made lasagna that she through in the oven.
Here is a picture of Austin playing one of the games Yank me.
He ended up spilling the cups on this one but did many of the other games. Myself and Brent might have been the only two to get this one. It is all about the set up.
Libby is attempting to flip pencils off the back of her hand and then catch them all with Chris giving instructions. You start with 2, then 4, and so on until 12 total.
Here is a video of Craig doing the challenge. He and Austin both did the same catching 11 and Chris got all twelve. I stopped taking pictures of the games but there were a lot more interesting ones, marbles, tennis rackets, cup pyramids, etc. It was a great idea for a party, very entertaining. Maybe 6-10 games would be better because we started the night at 6 and didn’t end until late.
Zach stayed at our neighbors until about 8 when he would normally go to bed and we came to get him and put him to bed and the Doten’s as we do frequently. When we picked him up he had a fever of 102 and took a couple naps but didn’t sleep last night. From about 1 until 6:30 (really 7:30, we were very thankful for the time change!) he was up. He then slept until almost 9:30 but is cranky this morning. Poor kid, his fever is gone (more around 99.5) so that makes us feel better. Hopefully by the end of today he will be his normal happy self.
