We spent Saturday March 16th, but Savannah's official St. Patricks day in down town. The area still considered Sunday a holy day and we don't have big events such as treat or treating or St Patrick's day on Sundays. Which is great because Z can celebrate this as well as his birthday.
Our friends live on a square in down town Savannah so they had set up a tailgating tent early in the morning and had things all set up for us. They even had a birthday gift for Z which kept him entertained as we waiting for the parade.
The view of Wright Square from the street (we were the Georgia tent)
A birthday cake for Zachary at the tailgate.
While we were waiting for the parade Z and I walked up and down the street pushing his new lego tractor.
Busy city street...
The parade includes the Budweiser Clydesdales which are always my favorite.
In case you were wondering about the term sleep like a baby, this is Jeremiah napping while a marching band goes by literally 10 feet from his head, maybe closer.
The parade is hours long and Zachary sat in his stroller and watched the entire time. His favorites were the bands and there are lots of bands and bag pipes.
An unintentional laughter shot, their niece fell or something right when I took the photo so we all were laughing.
It was really nice to have their house just upstairs to use the restrooms, let the kids run free without a crowd and after the parade we gathered up there for some dinner.
And we had quiet time with some books just after the parade then took a walk to allow Z to nap. It was a great day and the kids really enjoyed it as well as us. But we need to stay South of Broughton street, any closer to the river and it is too crazy for us.
