Pumpkin Carving

We did not do pumpkin carving in the traditional way with a party this year, don’t get your hopes up for a grad masterpiece.   Austin was uninspired and not really feeling the pumpkin carving which led to him going for the stencil design out of the book.

The puppies who LOVE eating pumpkin, especially Bo, waiting patiently at the edge of the pumpkin cloth for when they are given the ok to devour the pumpkin innards.  We should have taken a video of Bo eating it, he downed the entire bowl in minutes and those were some big pumpkins.  We did sit and watch Clue while carving which is a must watch Halloween movie.

Zachary’s pumpkin that Austin carved.  I asked for a turtle, this is what he did.  I still don’t see the resemblance.

Zachary sat and watched the pumpkins flicker for a while and was thoroughly entertained.  He wanted to reach out and grab it which we of course did not let him do while it was lit.

All three lit up together on the porch.  And now we are roasting the pumpkin seeds which is a great bonus to pumpkin carving.  Over the years we have come up with a salt and vinegar flavored roasted pumpkin seed.

They are very cute - and impressive! And your roasted seeds sound delicious!! (You should try mailing some - I bet that would make them even better!)
