Happy 2nd Birthday Zachary!

On Sunday, March 17th, 2013 our baby prince turned two years old.

We started the day by him finding his new balance bike!
He was very excited about it but a little scared to climb on and start going.

The rest of these pictures will be out of order unfortunately because I haven't spent the time to find a good blogger software for the Mac (if you know one please share).

Here is Z opening a Curious George book that is read to him by Nana and Papa as he turns the pages.

At the end of the party we played kickball in the yard with the older kids (and adults).  Z didn't play but wanted to go with Austin a few times, this is them on 3rd base about to get home.

Z opening some new clothes from Grandma and Grandpa.  The party was a lot of fun and he did presents randomly throughout the day.  Each present was more fun that way.

This was in the early evening after everyone was gone and were finishing picking everything up.  Zachary walked out into the yard on his own and just sat and looked with Bo.

They sat like this for a good 10 minutes or longer.  Then they moved over by the BBQ and laid for a little while.  Bo is such a good buddy for Z.

This is at the end of the night just before bed time, he opened some fun books from the Holm's.

For entertainment during the party the kids went on a scavenger hunt that AUstin and I created.  We hid 10 clues around the yard with a box filled with goody bags, color books and crayons at the end.  They were trying to find a clue on the gate.

Zachary opening some presents from the kids that came.  We had a large group, Doten's, LeTourneau's, our friend Scott and his girls who also do gymnastics, and two families from small group and one of my coworkers family.  16 kids (including Jeremiah and Z) and 12 adults.

The food spread and Mickey decor and Jeremiah chillin' in his chair.

Attacking his cupcake.  Much better response than last year.

Z has lots of things, the only true needs he has are clothes in larger sizes and consumables such as milk, diapers, etc.  We also do not want to have tons of stuff in our home and want to teach him to be giving and not entitled.  Sooo, we decided we would have the party but ask people to bring food that Z could take to the new food bank our church is opening in our county.  I was surprised at the amount of food they were able to bring just by not getting him a $10 gift or so.  The food bank opens April 13th but we will take with us the weekend before on a stock up day.  And Zachary really enjoyed opening the gifts of canned food and stacking them into the bin.  I was glad he had a good reaction because people were nice enough to bring food as we requested which was probably less fun to shop for than a kid toy.

Here is another one from the end of the day opening the Holm's present and a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD from us.  He also got a truck book from Aunt Erica and Uncle Dan but we didn't get a picture because it came later, but he loves reading it too, thanks Dan and Erica!

Kickball action shot of Piper trying to catch the throw to first base to get out her mom and Z just chilin' walking around the field with no clue.

Baby brother Jeremiah taken by our friend Scott who does professional photos for scenery shots.

The kids digging in the back corner under the sticks laid as an X.  One of the clues was buried here.

It was a fun filled day with nice breaks and relaxing built in so none of us was over worked or over whelmed.  Zachary continues to be a tall thin baby compared to average and had a healthy two year check up (more about that in his 2 year photo shoot blog post).  He loves Mickey Mouse, pushing things around, dada, mama and "Mia."  Zachary asks to go to Jeremiah at daycare when he sees Jere in the window and then gives Jere a kiss and goes back out to play.  He points out smoke detectors and says it in an adorable way, still loves reading books and has found a new love with peanut butter.  Zachary has one chore which is to help Austin change out the diaper pail bags, Z carries them outside and throws them out.  For some reason he calls this chore "Mooey."  No clue why but we call it that as well since he does and sometimes he'll jump up and start saying Mooey and run to their bedrooms room.  We are so happy to have our healthy little 2 year old baby doll in our lives!

His party turned out fantastic! Love that you did food donations instead of toys. We're going to start doing that. Thanks for all the updated blog posts. The babies are ADORABLE!!!!!
